PASADENA—The California Institute of Technology will celebrate the life of Martin Luther King, Jr., with a day of festivities held on the Caltech campus on Monday, January 20. All members of the community can attend two separate programs, from noon to 2:30 p.m., and again from 6:30 to 8 p.m., which will be held in Ramo Auditorium.
The daytime program will include a talk by the Reverend Billie R. Keller and performances by the local Alkebu-lan Boys Choir and the Pasadena City College Gospel Choir.
The evening program, "From Labor to Reward," a musical celebration commemorating Dr. King's contributions and highlighting his life and civil rights struggles, will showcase a joint performance by the choirs of Pasadena City College and the New Macedonia Missionary Church, under the coordination of Betty Griffin Keller, Pasadena City College's choir director.
The programs are free and open to the public.
