Unpacking the Fetishization, Hypersexualization and Objectification of Women of Color

We will explore the role of media and media representations in the construction and perpetuation of problematic stereotypes about women of color. Through the intersectional analysis of gendered and racialized power dynamics, we will historicize prejudicial tropes. We will also address the effect of stereotypes and tropes on women's experiences both interpersonally and professionally. RSVP
