Speaker's Bio:
Fan You is a PhD candidate in Operations and Information Management at the Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado Boulder. His research focuses on optimization algorithms and their applications. Prior to joining Leeds, Fan received his Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Penn State University, and Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.

Speaker's Bio:
Ru Chen is a lead data scientist at Global Analytics, Activision. She builds the machine learning system for the Just For You recommender, which powers part of the in-game store of Call of Duty, Modern Warfare and Warzone. Prior to working in industry, she received her physics PhD at UC Santa Barbara and then was a postdoctoral fellow at Berkeley Lab and UC Berkeley. Her main research interest was exotic phases of material such as topological phases.
